The new wind in private investment
“The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails”. William Arthur Ward
The private equity sector in Italy is facing a deep change generated by conflicts of interest and below-expected returns from the financial industry.
Anemos was created to capture the new wind that drives family-run investment holdings, which can put their own capital to work, patiently, having their interests aligned with companies.
Pillars of the investment strategy
Anemos mainly aims for small and medium-sized Italian companies, active in profitable market niches and led by experienced entrepreneurs motivated to grow their firms.
Key investment criteria:
- Italian companies led by entrepreneurs determined to pursue opportunities for expansion and internationalization;
- focus on B2B sectors, both manufacturing and technological, in which the “Made in Italy” mark is recognized abroad. In particular: Food Beverage, Medical Devices, ICT, Education, Nutraceuticals, Cosmetics, Precision Mechanics and sectors with a positive ESG impact;
- Companies characterized by significant barriers to entry, clear distinctive features compared to competition, scalable and resilient business models, and that have consolidated sustainable competitive advantages in the long term;
- Strong preference for primary and proprietary investments.
